Five on a Friday!

Three posts in one week??? Say what???? Go me!

This week was so darn SLOW. Seriously, I woke up everyday complaining that it wasn't Friday. And now Friday is finally here. Let's go it shall we??

1. THREE DAY WEEKEND! YES! Now while it will be INCREDIBLY difficult to go back to school on Tuesday, I need a break. I need to just get away and relax. J and I are continuing our tradition and heading up to his parents' place outside of Savannah. Even if all we do is lounge around and play board games, it will still be great!

2. I wish I had a screen capture, but it was really so GREAT to catch up with a few of my high school friends. It's exciting to see how great our lives turned out and how at heart we are still the little nerds we were in high school.

3.

10 SCHOOL DAYS LEFT! I really did love my class this year, but I'm ready to say bye-bye to them.

4.

J and I went to rookie mini camp last weekend. 6200 fans showed up! For a ROOKIE MINI CAMP! I can't wait for football season to start, even if it means I'll be watching most of the games during the season with my little one in a Jaguars onesie. :)

5. Did I mention three day weekend??? :)

Do you have any plans this weekend? How was your week?

Friday, Friday, Friday!

Oh hello there blog friends who still read this. I promise, I'm alive. Just super swamped. Can I just tell you how pumped I am that it's Friday??? Plus it's a planning day, and I'm such a teacher nerd. I love planning days (and not just because I get off work early too!)

So let's see what my five favorite things were this week!

1. PLANNING DAY = SHORT WEEK
My class has full fledged spring fever. I don't know how many times I had to have them have some quiet time. I have the sweetest, most well behaved class ever, so when they start acting like normal first graders, I lose it just a little bit. :)

2.

J and I bought a new couch and love seat for our living room. I love them both! We did realize we will have to get rid of the breakfast bar, but these comfy babies are worth it. The couch is a power recliner. I'm not the only who loves it either:

Silly girl!

3. I hit the 16 week mark this week and I have a visible bump that's actually bump and not bloat!

I also ::think:: I felt baby move a few nights ago. Woke up with some random feelings in my belly but they went away. We shall see. :) I have an appointment next week and then the week after we find out what we're having!

4. I went to the dentist on Wednesday. While I normally DESPISE this, it wasn't that bad! Plus Dr. Anand said my teeth look great and she didn't bitch me out for forgetting to go. SCORE!

5. My mom and I are going shopping for some maternity clothes tomorrow. My pants are getting snug and I want to buy another belly band. :)

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!!!

Woot! Woot! It's Friday!

Hi all! Feel like I keep ignoring this little blog space of mine. I could lie and say I've been busy, but eh that wouldn't be true. Unless you count watching the Olympics being busy!

Let's get to my five from this week:

J surprised me by bringing home roses and strawberry cheesecake from Publix on Valentine's Day. Because of all the extra expenses heading our way, we had agreed to not do anything major but he broke his own rule. :)

I received my Carabox from Jessie. Can't wait to paint my nails with the fun colors she gave me!

I've really been loving watching the Olympics every night. I love that I was able to watch some of the best events live! I'm kind of bummed that the Olympics ends on Sunday. I adore the Winter Olympics. I can watch every event (yes, even curling!). Plus it's just fun!

I went out last night with one of my friends from my old school. It was nice to vent and just catch up with each other!!! Plus this ecard's perfect because we ended up at Chili's!

I don't have a number five, except to say YAY WEEKEND! :)

Where do you go for dinner with friends?

FRIDAY!!!

Is it just me, or did this week crawwwwwwwwl by? Yea, it crawled for me, probably because I wasn't feeling 100% all week. But I can still find five things that made my week:

1. Did I mention that J and I bought a house? Oh yea, we did. We haven't closed yet, but we did hear back that the seller will fix some issues AND that the house is now in a safer zone which means lower insurance. Woot!

2. I killed it on my formal observation. Nice when your hard work is noticed!

3. Did I mention that my student loans are paid off??? THEY ARE! Back in November, I received the good news that 5,000 dollars of my loan was forgiven. Which left me with 700 dollars to pay. J and I paid mine off and it feels SO good to say that!

4.

Yea, it's NO secret that I love football. I really like the Seahawks(mostly because the Jags current coach, Gus, came from there and because I can't stand Peyton) but I also really like Richard Sherman's story. I hated it when all the world went off on him for his rant. His story is one that I would hope for all my at-risk kids.

We are hosting my family that day and I can't wait to watch a heck of game and eat lots of yummy food!

5. Finally, I'm having a girls' date with two of my closest friends at Chipotle tonight. A carnitas bowl is calling my name!!!

Have a fabulous week!

Do you watch the Super Bowl?
What's your favorite restaurant?

Five For Friday... Christmas Break edition!

My Friday was technically Wednesday, which was the last day of school before break. To say that the kiddos were excited... that would be an understatement! Even my sweet little darlings were acting like complete hot messes!

But break is here and I'm about to head out to breakfast with one of my best friends, so let's recap my top five this week, shall we?

Over the weekend, J and I FINALLY stopped into this yummy popcorn store. Each one of my popcorn pieces was like eating a yummy orange lollipop. I have to kill time today, so I may be returning to try another fun flavor!

As is tradition (and like a thousand other schools out there!) first grade had our Polar Express day on Wednesday. The kids wore their jammies and so did their adults! I adore my team. We are simply the best!!!

J surprised my students by coming and reading to them. It was really cute how enthralled they were by him. Plus he brought them coloring books, which made them love him even more!

someecards.com - Fact. Teachers are always more excited for Christmas break than students.

Pretty true. Especially when it's 18 days long this year!!!

I know that's only four, but it was a pretty short week for me. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

IT'S FRIDAY!

SCORE! Thank goodness it's Friday. It was a short week, and I just had a mini-break, but I am starting the countdown to Winter Break (FYI, 8 days!) Overall, this was a busy and short week, so let's get to it!

Absolutely loving how fun and cheery my house is when I walk in. I have a few more things I want to add (like some cute printables I found!) but it's pretty perfect to me!

I received this good news this week! My project on Donor's Choose was funded! If you haven't heard about Donor's Choose, it's this amazing website where you can write requests for classroom needs and people can donate to your cause. If you've never checked it out, please do!

My students and I had a wonderful time on our field trip yesterday! We went and saw a condensed version of the Nutcracker. There were a few head scratching moments (like, pretty sure there weren't any drunken guests at the party and how could you leave out Trepak?) but overall my classed LOVED it and they looked adorable all dressed up!

Last night I attended what was definitely one of the MOST exciting Jaguar games EVER! The boys pulled out a big win and I barely have a voice this morning. The Jaguars currently own the longest win streak in the AFC! LOVE IT!

Tonight is my holiday party for work and right after J and I are heading up to Savannah for the weekend. Should be a good time!

Happy Friday! As always, linking up with Lauren for H54F!

WOWZERS! One week away!

So, this is my last Friday post for the next two weeks (unless I write them and schedule, but that like NEVER happens).

Why?

Well in case you haven't been following closely, my wedding is NEXT Friday. I still cannot wrap my head around the fact that MY wedding is next week. So used to helping others celebrate. Eeek!

So here's my five for this week:

My patriotic mani. Thinking I could parlay this pattern into other holidays: Valentine's Day draw a heart; Christmas, draw a tree.

I'm a BIT of a grammar nerd. So when I saw this sign at the grocery store, I couldn't pass a chance to snap a pic. It's what happens when you LITERALLY try to translate something.

We move in OFFICIALLY tomorrow! I'll be there today unpacking some boxes of clothes and such. I spent all day yesterday doing this:

Painting the master bathroom. It was originally a dark green color, eek! Now it's a calming light blue and it really opens up the bathroom.

This was my cat's preferred spot during last night's fireworks display in my neighborhood. Thought her little head was going to snap from all the back and forth she was doing!

Have a fabulous weekend! As always, linking up with Lauren!

Friday!

For being on summer vacation, this week went by FAST and slow. I'm sitting here, slowly waking up and thinking to myself, man it's already Friday! while simultaneously thinking darn Friday, what took you SO long?

So here are my five great things this week!

um, didn't realize how tan I've gotten

My bachelorette party was a BLAST! Just had to reiterate that.

Sushi lunch with the bro and his girlfriend was DELISH.

My 28th birthday (eww, I feel OLD!) was just chock full of yummy food, most of it FREE.

For weeks, my mom's told me that my birthday present would be a Vera Bradley weekender bag with a matching toiletry bag. When we went to Artsy Abode, the pattern above was on MEGA sale (like buy 3 items get 60% off each) So instead of the 2 items in the original pattern I wanted, I got the two items, plus a cute travel purse and wallet in the cute pattern pictured. Plus, the weekender has my new married name on it! YAY!

TWO WEEKS! GAH! Seriously?? I can't even wrap my head around it. Let's just hope when I take pictures by the ocean, the above does NOT happen.

How was your week??

3 weeks...

Eeeeeek! Three weeks to go until my wedding. I am still completely dumbfounded that it is SO darn close.

I'm pumped, because sometime today my BFF from college Lauren, and her awesome BFF Kaylee will be arriving from Tennessee. They are down here because tomorrow is my bachelorette party! I have no idea what's going to go down, because J's sister has done a fantabulous job keeping it under wraps.

This week ZOOMED by, but all in all was still pretty fabulous. Hit it!

J and I signed the lease on our townhome. We move in two weeks. Woot!

I've kept to my goal and stayed within my calorie count all week. It was pretty easy to do when you're still able to eat somewhat fun stuff, like buffalo veggie burgers and diet soda cake. Plus I worked out almost everyday.

Felt awesome to pay for my family's Father's Day lunch on Sunday. Plus we had a great time! (As proven by the fun faces on my uncle, bro and dad!)

Finished season 3 of Pretty Little Liars. It's funny because I don't really know why I like it so much. But, heck, I do!

Pumped for tomorrow and to be spending time with my closest friends. :)

Have a great weekend! As always, linking up with Lauren!

Recap shall we?

Admist the wedding CRAZINESS, I want to get back into blogging. It will be my blog anniversary next  Sunday. Maybe a giveaway in the works?

Anyways, here are my top five for this week.

1. SCHOOL'S OUT! I love my job. Really I do. And I'm sorry to those who don't get the summer off. But I'm just glad to relax, get married, and rejuvenate. I always joke that summers off are to prevent anything to happen to children. If I dealt with them all the time, I'd hurt them. And if parents dealt with them home for more than 2.5 months, they'd probably hurt them too. :)

2.

Seating chart is done. Unless people decide to come that said they weren't. I've been really proud of how I've been handling any wedding stress.  (Oh and FYI this seating chart app is on TheKnot.com)

3. Jimmy and I found a place to live! Well, we had already found one, but we found an even better one. A super cute 2 bedroom townhome a hop skip and a jump away from our work. Eeek! Can't wait to move in!

4.

Speaking of wedding, in EXACTLY four weeks, I will be getting married. Seems far away but RIDICULOUSLY close at the same time. J sent me a text saying he's getting impatient for our lives to begin and I couldn't agree more.

5.

So my favorite chocolate is WHITE chocolate. I know, I'm weird but at least my closest friend and fiance share in my love. My favorite candy bar is Hershey's Cookies and Creme and J told me yesterday that they made it into a cereal! It's quite yummy and actually not HORRIBLE for you.

Have a fabulous weekend y'all!

High FIVE for Friday!

Oh Friday. Thank goodness you are here. You took FOREVER to get here this week. Let's get on with my 5 best things from this week:

Had my wedding shower on Saturday. Still lovin' how adorable my cake was!

Itchin' to get my kitchen ready! Makes me smile when I think that in less than 50 days I'll be married!

someecards.com - Hey, I'm a teacher. Kids drove me crazy. Now here's my summer. So, call me lazy.

10 DAYS LEFT OF SCHOOL! Shout it from the rooftops! I love my job and this year has DEFINITELY reignited my passion for teaching. But my little ones have been together since Pre-K and it's time for them to go their separate ways!

It's fun receiving my RSVPs, but this one from my uncle takes the cake. I laughed so hard when I saw it!

Finally, it's a three day weekend! Heading up to Savannah to spend time with future in-laws. J and I have gone to Georgia every Memorial Day weekend since we began dating. Last year, our trip got cut short because of Tropical Storm Bonnie. Here's to hoping I can just lay by the pool and relax!

As always, linking up with Lauren!

Wow, Friday all ready?

Yea, I'm posting this near the end of Friday, but I forgot to write this last night.

I had a pretty simple and fun week so here goes:

1.  SHORT WEEK! I came back to work from Spring Break on Tuesday, had some professional development on Wednesday, taught on Thursday, then a planning day today! Loved it.

2.

I've been trying to eat healthier all week and I made this yummy brown rice bowl for dinner on Wednesday. Grilled chicken, brown rice, broccoli, drizzled with some sweet chili sauce. It was delicious!

3. Went shopping on Monday. Bought some ADORABLE clothes from Old Navy and Loft. Bad blogger that I am, I did not take pictures. :(

4.

J and I went to Rock of Ages last night and I loved it! I already knew all of the songs (some that I had heard,   others because J loves this music) but the show was HILARIOUS and a lot of fun!

5. Got my first paycheck from my curriculum team. Can't wait until it equals more than 60 dollars!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Short week = great week

Man, work weeks that begin on Tuesday always seem to fly by don't they? No more three day weekends until Spring Break. Boo.

Here are my top 5 for this week:

1. I finished my lesson plans today at work. Which means a weekend of relaxing! Woot!

2. I received my observation rubric. I received 7 Highly Effectives and the rest Effective! Double woot!

3. Received my awesome Carabox from Amy over at Life's Little Adventures. Can't wait to share it with all of you on Monday!

4. While this isn't the EXACT outfit I wore, I did rock my red blazer at work and got a million compliments. I might need to break it out of the closet more often!

5. Dinner is Cheesecake Factory tonight! YUMMO! J said we could go out celebrate my awesome eval. He said no cheesecake, but I'm hoping he'll change his mind!

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!
